Starting with a basic specification Corsa 3 door, you can specify either a new vehicle or a low mileage used example , the choice is yours. The car is the the lightest available model as standard. The emphasis is to keep the kerbweight low, enabling the car to respond and change direction with agility and communication to the driver.
The car is then stripped back to a bare shell and any brackets, soundproofing, sealing compounds etc are removed.
Safety is aided with the addition of a rear roll cage also adding to shell rigidity, a full welded multipoint cage is an option should it be requested.
Racing seats are fitted with the drivers seat adjustable on a rail system and the passenger seat fixed in an optimum position for weight distribution and low centre of gravity. Each seat is backed up by a safety harness attatched into the rear roll cage.The vehicle is trimmed to the minimum again to keep the weight down.
Race style dash is fitted this is functional for road legality and cotains warning lights for indicators, main beam etc. A data logger is optional, the system records mileage keeping the car MOT friendly.

Engine choice is to move away from the current turbo trend. We utilise a normally aspirated motor giving razor sharp throttle resonse with a good flexible torque spread. Here we take out the standard motor and replace with the Variable valve application Z18XER engine. This utilizes a bespoke Engine control unit from MBE systems controlling performance and emissions control.
This unit is then mated to a Six speed Gm gearbox with the option of a shorter ratio straight cut gearbox if required. Power is distributed through a Torsen type differential with a more conventional plate type diff also an option for a more focused use.
Chassis uses a simple non adjustable suspension set up keeping roll centres and costs low. Optimised spring rates and damper settings applied for the best contol.
The electro power steering is adjustable for feel by using a rotary switch with varying weight settings.This is backed up by altered steering geometry and a road legal wheel and tyre package to give excellent feedback and progressive breakaway characteristics. Electronic stability programmes are removed, a stiffer rear axle beam is used and a larger diameter antiroll bar is used at the front. A fully adjustable race coil over set up is an otion on request. |

Brakes are a set up already proven on Corsa , utilizing OEM discs with high performance friction material and braided brake hoses replacing OE rubber where normally fitted. Fluid is distributed by a larger master cylinder. ABS is retained with an option for it to be switched off when desired.
